Amberline is Current’s newest system and, per fiber pair, its highest-capacity — 20 fiber pairs engineered for 600 Tbps combined once fully lit, using the latest generation of low-loss fiber and 16-QAM coherent transponders rated at commissioning for higher per-wavelength throughput than any earlier system in our portfolio.

The route runs from our flagship regional hub at Tuas, Singapore, west to a landing point in Colombo, Sri Lanka, and on to Chennai, India — a corridor chosen specifically to give Indian hyperscale and carrier customers a second, physically diverse path into Singapore’s interconnection ecosystem that doesn’t share a cable landing corridor or a marine route with the existing systems serving that traffic, which was the single most common diversity requirement we heard from prospective customers on this route during pre-sales.

Singapore’s Tuas landing point in particular sits at one of the most cable-dense coastal corridors anywhere in the world, and Amberline’s route survey and permitting had to sequence trenching and route crossings around eleven other existing cable systems already landed in the same protected corridor — a genuinely difficult marine-construction coordination problem, worked through jointly with the Singapore maritime authority and the other cable owners over roughly fourteen months before the lay ship was cleared to begin.

Amberline is wholly owned by Current and was ready for service in 2025, sold primarily as lit 100G/400G/800G wavelength services and dark fiber IRUs to carriers and hyperscale customers building out Indian Ocean-region capacity.
